How to use the grid vizualisation for creating a “MIDI” ocean

The Grid (GD) vizualisation is obviously a grid with 11 rows by 12 columns. Each column represent a note (C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G, G#, A, A#, B) and each row for an octave. Below you see a grid with subsurface modifier applied

After generating animation of grid following MIDI notes with MTB script you have to extend the grid so that it becomes an ocean

Apply these two modifiers : subsurface and ocean

And animate some ocean values

Make the composition, add texture and work the light

The result
